Prayers & Goals - Start 2018 with a BANG!

& He will be right there with you, too!

& He will be right there with you, too!

Hey Ya'll!

I hope each and every one of you had an amazing holiday season. I took some time to completely unplug and be with my daughter, family and friends. I even made myself stay off of all social media accounts  (for the most part) just so that I could rest my mind. Facebook and Instagram are the two biggest ways that I stay in contact with you guys and I LOVE seeing inside of your lives, but sometimes it's so necessary to unplug and just recharge.

I am here to tell you that it felt SO good!

These moments are an opportunity to sit back and think about all that God has done for my daughter and I. All that He has done for Saved by Grace Co. All that He has kept me through.  It's also an opportunity for me to do some self reflecting. And let me tell you what.... I have some serious  changes to make both in my personal life and with Saved by Grace Co. I've always been one to have the ability to admit to the good, bad and ugly of myself and good gracious - I need Jesus, ya'll.

That takes me into my reason for this e-mail......Have you ever sat down at the beginning of the year and written down the goals you wanted to acheive for the upcoming year? I did this at the beginning of 2017, but I did two separate goals. Goals for SBG that I needed to accomplish to sustain and then goals that I prayed for and called "Goals if I knew I would never fail".

Guess what?  - I met every single goal that I set for myself under the "If I knew I would never fail" category. These goals were literally goals I laughed at. Like, "Girl,'ll never do that". Do you think that I met those wild and crazy goals just because I wrote them down? Do you think that I met them even just because I busted my BUTT to? Nope....I met them because I prayed. I met them because I left my entire life and finances in God's hands. I met them because I was obedient and I listened no matter how hard and how much I had to sacrifice.

As you go into the new year, I want you to try this.

First - Pray: "God, I ask you to meet me where I am now. You know where I am lacking and you know what my heart desires for my life. Most importantly, You know the calling that You have set in front of me. Please help me to see more clearly the goals that I need to reach to better serve You. I want to see You more clearly in every role I take on in 2018. I want to be obedient to You and I know by doing that, my life will flourish in ways it never has before. Amen."

Next - Take some time with that prayer and when you feel comfortable, start to make your list.

Make a list:

1. Goals that I need to accomplish to sustain (or stay afloat). These would be goals that you put in front of yourself that are indeed important, but ones that you know if you stick with them, you'll surely accomplish.

2. Goals if I knew I would never fail. These are the BIG goals. Goals that are scary. Goals that need Jesus. Goals that seem so out of reach. Goals that take BIG sacrifice and obedience.

After you make your list of these goals, I want you to pick a scripture for the year. This scripture may take some time to find. Pray about it and ask God to give you the scripture that you need to meditate on for the entire year. This scripture will lead you into prayer each time you think of your goals or plan. This scripture will help you connect your goals to God. Write this scripture down. Put it on your bathroom mirror, near your front door. Wherever you will see it most.

Lastly, make a list of things you want to change about yourself this year. Don't be hard on yourself. Show yourself some grace. These are the hard things that maybe only YOU know about yourself. Maybe you need to soften your heart or be more patient. Or maybe you need to surrender your life to God. Be a better mother or father. Not procrastinate. Maybe you need to finally make that appointment with your doctor to help sort out your anxiety or depression issues. Whatever it is -  Write it down.

I wouldn't  ask you guys to do anything I wasn't doing myself. I'm going to spend the next few days doing exactly what I've asked you to do. I am prayerful that each of you take a moment to do this, or to at least pray for God to be with you in this upcoming new year.

To help you along the way, I've created this pretty little worksheet you can print off to use.

Don't have a printer? Message me. I'd be happy to shoot you a copy in the mail.
